Late summer 2012 will see the opening of a new,
groundbreaking facility that will transform the
development of football. St. George’s Park is The FA’s new
330-acre sports site in the National Forest, near Burton-
Upon-Trent, in the geographical heart of England.
As well as being the new training base for England, it
will importantly also be the home of FA Learning with
outstanding education courses and an integrated sports
medicine centre. This world-class facility will be available
to use by UK and global football clubs, other sports and
business organisations with the aim of driving excellence
in performance.
St. George’s Park will become the national centre for coach
education, enabling a step-change in both the quantity
and quality of coaching development. It will help drive
the changes recommended in The FA Youth Development
Review to make a long-term impact on the coaching and
development of the next generation of English players.
Coaches will be able to take courses from Level 1, for
locally-based coaches, up to UEFA Pro-Licence residential
stays – and everything in between. They will learn from
the very best tutors in a world-class training environment.
